Well, time to introduce yet another project…

Welcome to Project 2003!

Not long ago at my local club, some of the older guys were talking about how they had some touring cars that wouldn’t cut the mustard against current cars, but are perfectly decent and usable. A bit of a discussion about how to use them in a fun way and to get back to how we used to race without tyre warmers, brushless etc, and they came up with the idea of using up all the old cars and parts we had kicking around in storage, and Retro TC was born.

Simple rules:

27t brushed
Chassis has to have been discontinued and replaced by the manufacturer at least once (or 4 times if an Xray, Tamiya belt-drive chassis or Schumacher)
Bodies have to be discontinued
No dished wheels

Most of the guys are going to run the Losi XXXS, Associated TC3 or TC4, Schumacher Mission, or Xray T1, but heres my entry, trying to keep everything to budget :D

Yokomo SD SSG
Protoform Stratus 2.0 body
Team One 27t motor
Mtroniks Tempo 15
Scanner SSV-9764MG servo
Yeah Racing 3200 LiPo
Spektru SR3500 receiver

The body was one I had in storage from about 4-5 years ago, painted by Kevin Bishop – he does the designs for RTR Schumacher kits and press pictures. The wheels and tyres are really old CS22s, they’ll be fine once they’ve been cleaned up. The chassis is mint. I mean….MINT. I got it off this forum last year for a bit of drifting, but haven’t gotten round to it, and now it’ll be tried out in Retro TC for a while, until I get bored again.

Just need to get it on a setup board and have a bit of fun.
